I should have commented on this earlier. anyway how do I create a non date specific pledge (e.g. I need 5 people to help me on the X wiki) I was thinking of doing something more page specific with the Movie guide wiki. like if I can have 5 people help create articles for recent releases. However I'm not keen on doing it by myself as I'm no expert. would this be able to be made into a pledge. I'm not clear on how the PB template is supposed to be used. --Drawde83 04:40, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, the date is usually a part of this in order to give some focus. So if you're one of several people 'signing up' there needs to be some sort of shared understanding as to when the shared action will actually take place assuming enough people sign up. Having said that you can pick whatever date you like. So something well into the future will effectively be non date specific as it's unlikely that people will check back on pledges made a long time ago, (but of course then its also unlikely to work as a shared action if people don't remember to check back). Another option is to test an idea out, so if you think it might take 3 months to attract enough people go for a date after three months. If it doesn't work out you can just repeat over a subsequent three months. The template just really provides a heading on a page with a link back to the 'index/help' page of pledges on wikisocial.
